Zaccharie Risacher Dominates in Match 2 Against Monaco: A Standout Performance Before the NBA Draft

Already author of a double-double in the first round of the series between Monaco and JL Bourg, Zaccharie Risacher raised the level in Match 2 at Le Rocher this Saturday: 21 points and 8 rebounds, with the victory as a bonus, This will further solidify his rating one month before the NBA Draft.

He was discreet in attack for a long time, almost an entire half. Except for a quick dunk at the start of the match following a turnover by the young Monegasque point guard Matthew Strazel, Zaccharie Risacher did not see the ball much and therefore did not weigh in on the scoring. Worse, he distinguished himself by being… covered by the hoop on a tomar attempt, or even through a 0/2 on the throws which hit the mark.

And then there was this fadeaway at the end of a somewhat chaotic possession, a super difficult shot but one that hit the mark, in the last minutes of the second quarter. The beginning of its rise to power.

Another big French playoff outing for Zaccharie Risacher, this time vs top Euroleague squad Monaco. 21 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and the important road win in game 2 of the semis for the 19-year old, No. 1 ranked prospect in ESPN’s Top-100. pic.twitter.com/f39BejHDyY

Successful with his outside shot, Zaccharie Risacher planted in quick succession a long 2-point shot then a winning shot to help JL Bourg finish the first half strong. Returning from the locker room, Zacch does not lose his rhythm: he draws without hesitation in catch & shoot and it succeeds for him. JL Bourg, trailing by four points at the break, passed Monaco before experiencing a gap which coincided with Risacher being placed on the bench.

No problem, Zacch still has resources.

The French nugget allows himself a coast-to-coast at the end of the third quarter, which begins with a dribble behind the back and ends with a big two-handed tomar. You see, it is in particular for this type of action that this kid is announced in the Top 3 of the next Draft.

A dazzling performance that will be followed by other actions that are much less “flashy” but just as valuable: a forced pass, a scraped rebound, the right pass in transition, or even a lay-up after pick & roll. As a symbol, it is also Zaccharie Risacher who will transform a big and-1 at the end of the match, definitively swinging the match towards JL Bourg.

Thanks to a great collective effort, and facing a Monaco team which played without Mike James and Donatas Motiejunas, Risacher’s gang ended up winning 83-73, thus equalizing the series (semi-final) before two matches which promise to be heated at the Ekinox.

Zaccharie Risacher’s performance against Monaco

  • 21 points
  • 8/12 shooting including 2/4 3-pointers and 3/5 free throws
  • 8 rebounds
  • 1 passe
  • 2 interceptions
