Joel Schwärzler is unstoppable at the ATP Challenger tournament in Skopje: On Wednesday, the 18-year-old from Vorarlberg defeated the second-seeded Turk Ergi Kirkin (ATP 258) 6:2, 6:1 in the round of 16 after less than an hour of play away.

This also means that the youngster will enter the top 600 in the world for the first time next week. In the first round, Schwärzler had to fend off a match point against the Uzbek Serej Fomin.

Schwärzler will now face 22-year-old Czech Andrew Paulson (ATP 156) in his third Challenger quarterfinal this year.
