The transfer of power has been confirmed: FC Barcelona, defending champion, won the Women’s Champions League by beating Olympique Lyonnais 2-0 in the final on Saturday in Bilbao. The Spaniards scored with the Ballon d’Or Aitana Bonmati (63rd) and Alexia Putellas (90+5). Crowned in 2021 and 2023, the Catalans who were playing their fourth C1 final in a row took their revenge on the Lyonnaises who had beaten them at this stage of the competition in 2019 and 2022. Until then, the Lyonnaises, who played their eleventh final since 2010, had won their four confrontations with Barça in the Champions League, but the fifth was the good one for the Spaniards.
