The WAC women lost the cross game against Lorenzoni Bra from Italy 1:4 (1:3) at the EuroHockey Club Challenge I in Vienna on Monday, but still managed to get promoted as third in the tournament.

Thanks to Sabina Chiesa (10th) and Pilar de Biase (18th, 21st), the Italians were already on course for victory in the Vienna Prater before the break. Isabella Klausbruckner scored to equalize (16th). After the break, Lisa di Blasi (35th) fixed the final score.
In addition to Lorenzoni Bra, HC Olten also secured the tournament victory. After a 0-0 draw after regular time, the Swiss won 3-2 in a shoot-out against Racing Club de France. WAC captain Carla Kemper was voted the best player of the tournament together with the Italian De Biase.
