The president of Vinci Construction, Pierre Anjolras, is climbing the ranks within the Vinci group after being unanimously appointed operational general manager. This strategic promotion marks a turning point in the implementation of the succession plan for CEO Xavier Huillard.
Announced by the construction and concessions group, this strategic decision positions Pierre Anjorlas at the heart of the group’s operations, under the direct supervision of Xavier Huillard, chairman and CEO of the group.
Strengthen the management structure
« The position of operational general manager did not exist until now within the group », Underlines Vinci in a press release, which indicates that it wants to strengthen its management structure. Until then, the group had two deputy general directors, Pierre Coppey and Christian Labeyrie.
Xavier Huillard’s mandate as CEO of Vinci, a global giant employing 280,000 people in 120 countries, will end on April 17, 2025, at the end of the general meeting scheduled to approve the accounts for the 2024 financial year. Nevertheless, his mandates as director and chairman of the board of directors. will remain in force until the 2026 general meeting of shareholders.
A graduate of Polytechnique and civil engineer, Pierre Anjorlas joined the company in 1999 as general manager of Sogea Sud-Ouest. Over the years, he has held various positions including that of operations director of Cofiroute in 2004, and general director of ASF in 2007, two Vinci Autoroutes networks.
In 2010, his career took on an international dimension when he was appointed deputy general manager in charge of international affairs and public-private partnerships at Eurovia, before being promoted to CEO in 2014, thus joining the Vinci executive committee. At the start of 2021, he was also appointed president of Vinci Construction.
