Victor Wembanyama’s rookie season has been over for a good month now, but San Antonio fans still have memories of Wemby in their heads. That’s good, the French phenomenon wanted to thank them in video, he who has just received his Rookie of the Year trophy.
The video lasts three minutes. Three minutes of emotion, during which Victor Wembanyama said “thank you San Antonio” in his own way. By thanking the legends who made the Spurs the great NBA franchise that it is today, by thanking Coach Popovich and his entire staff, without obviously forgetting his teammates, but also the agents working in the Spurs room and even the mascot “The Coyote”. And then of course, there are these few words for his very close entourage, and finally for all the Spurs fans, especially the youngest and those who welcomed him upon his arrival at the San Antonio airport after the Draft NBA.

Victor Wembanyama wanted to write and send a message to the entire Spurs Nation after his rookie season.

This video was broadcast at the Scobee Planetarium in San Antonio (planet, extra-terrestrial, alien… you get it) during the Rookie of the Year award ceremony. Around fifty children were present to applaud Victor Wembanyama after his monumental first season. The Spurs had also prepared a video to pay tribute to their phenomenon. In short, a ceremony filled with emotions.
