UOP Youth Basketball Teams Prepare for Regional Finals

The UOP is not on vacation yet. The under-13s, both female and male, play overtime in the final phase. After the convincing victory of the youngest girls last weekend, it will be the turn of the boys to ignite the Rijole this Saturday at 1 p.m. and hope to reach the regional final.

U13F:

In the semi-final first leg of Departmental 1 Haute Garonne-Ariège, the youngest members of UOP took a big step towards the final by winning by around twenty points against Villemur at La Rijole (56-35). The Appaméennes built their comfortable success on a lightning start since they led by around fifteen points from the first minutes against the Villemuriennes who then seemed on the verge of rupture. However, the rest of the match was rather balanced and the young Ariège players would rather remain vigilant in order to protect themselves from any unpleasant surprises for the return match on the banks of the Tarn.

U13M:

It will also be the big day for the men’s under-13s, coached by Stéphan Guannel, without forgetting the training work of the stainless Alain Fonti, who will face TCMS (Toulouse Cheminots Marengo Sports), this Saturday at 1 p.m. Laughed in the semi-final in a decisive match. Pamiers is clearly the favorite after having outclassed everyone in its group (14 victories in as many matches played).

However, this immaculate record is also the result of exemplary progress. The young Appames had timidly started their season during the brewings (beaten by Mazères, Tarbes and Cugnaux) before revealing themselves, gaining strength and outrageously dominating their Regional 2 championship, in which the Cugnalais once again appeared. Even if anything can happen in a match, carried by the public of La Rijole, the young yellow and black shoots will have a great opportunity to be the standard bearer of the Appamean city during the regional finals which will be played at the beginning of June.

The usual group of the UOP: Peter Mayele Kabusu Babu, Tristan Guannel, Cyrus Querin, Sacha Daffos, Nolan Luis, Yanis Chalmet, Pablo Vinolas, Alexi Guchua and Tom Roussel.

U18F :

It would be unfair to forget the UOP cadets, who will play their last championship match this Saturday against Salies de Salat. Even if the club’s eyes will not really be focused on their performance, which will not be of any particular concern.

U7-U9-U11 :

The club’s youngest players will be in Lézat for the Minibasket festival which is organized each season by the departmental committees.
