Against the Thunder, the former Laker averaged 14.3 points and 34.5%, while Zion Williamson was absent. Obviously, his difficulties convinced the Pelicans that he was probably not the player they wanted to bet on.
According to Evan Sidery, NOLA will not offer an extension to Brandon Ingram during the offseason, he who is at the end of his contract in a year and eligible for an extension worth $208 million over 4 years. This decision, if confirmed, does not automatically mean that Ingram will be traded before the resumption of the 2024-2025 season, but the Louisiana franchise therefore leaves the door open to requests if it does not want to lose the All-Star without compensation. Brandon Ingram, for his part, if he prioritizes the check, can push in the direction of a trade towards a team which will want to bet on him to the tune of 50 million per year.
At only 26 years old, the person concerned can still be a player who inspires confidence in a GM looking for a winger to boost a project. For a contender, it seems more complicated in that he missed out on his last series, when he should have been the No. 1 option for the Pelicans.
