Tyrese Haliburton injured his left thigh

After the clear defeat, the Pacers apparently also have to worry about Haliburton. The star guard grimaced in pain after taking a backward step early in the fourth quarter and then walked unsteadily to the bench. Shortly after he went into the locker room, his return to the game was already ruled out; according to head coach Rick Carlisle, it is the same injury to his left thigh that he suffered in January, when he had to miss nine games.

Carlisle explained that the injury was not a problem just then. “He was already in pain at half-time, he tried and did his best,” he said of Haliburton: “I didn’t speak to him directly, but it wasn’t going well. The physio staff then decided that he needed treatment. It wasn’t my decision to stop him playing. He couldn’t continue.” Haliburton was already shaking his head in frustration during the warm-up before the second half and slamming a ball onto the ground.

“We’ll know more tomorrow and even more on Saturday,” Carlisle said when asked if Haliburton could play again in the series. The guard scored 10 points (4/8 FG) and had 8 assists in just under 28 minutes without committing a turnover. Pascal Siakam was the best pacer with 28 points on 13/17 from the field, he was defended at the beginning of many possessions by Horford, who often looked old in this duel.

The Celtics had great success with Brown or Tatum against Myles Turner, who had 18 points at halftime in Game 1. In Game 2, it was a completely different picture for Turner, he was limited defensively by two quick fouls and a third before halftime. Offensively, things weren’t going well for the big man either (0/3 FG, 4 turnovers) before halftime, and in the end he had 8 points (2/4 3P) and 4 rebounds in 24 minutes. Andrew Nembhard contributed 16 points (6/12 FG) and 5 assists.
