Tom Thibodeau’s New York Knicks Set NBA Record with Starters Dominance in Victory Against Pacers

On most basketball teams, the starters do most of the work. In some, even the men on the bench are even less important. But Tom Thibodeau’s New York Knicks pushed the envelope very, very far last night, in the victory against the Pacers.

118 points out of 121. We take out the Casio calculator which allowed us to obtain a fairly good grade, even good, in the college certificate, and we obtain the beautiful percentage of 97.52%. In Tom Thibodeau’s rotation, there is no room to please certain guys on the bench. The incumbents are there for a reason, and it’s all about squeezing all the juice possible out of them.

First of all, it’s because these gentlemen play a lot. But then a lot. 48 minutes (out of 48) for Josh Hart, 43 for the pair Jalen Brunson – Donte DiVincenzo, 42 for OG Anunoby and 36 for Isaiah Hartenstein… The bench (Mitchell Robinson, Precious Achiuwa and Miles McBride), contributed to 3 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 25 cumulative minutes, for the only +/- negative differentials of the match.

118 of the Knicks’ 121 points were scored by the starters.

The 100% starters run continues for Tom Thibodeau and the machine seems to be holding up. It’s incredible to see that, the level of expenditure and energy until the 48th minute.

They deserve a statue, guys.

Since the start of the Playoffs, never a bench had contributed so little in scoring (3 points) than the Knicks yesterday against the Indiana Pacers. In second place? The Knicks still, with 5 small bench units during Game 6 against the Sixers.

According to Statmuse, the absolute record of 0 points coming from the bench has only been achieved four times in NBA history. The Brooklyn Nets 2021 version (Game 7 against the Bucks), the Houston Rockets from 2007, the Indiana Pacers in 2006 and the Los Angeles Lakers from 1971.

You shouldn’t say it too loudly to Tom Thibodeau, he might give it a try. But when you take a look at the Knicks’ results, it’s hard to blame them for anything.
