On most basketball teams, the starters do most of the work. In some, even the men on the bench are even less important. But Tom Thibodeau’s New York Knicks pushed the envelope very, very far last night, in the victory against the Pacers.

The 100% starters run continues for Tom Thibodeau and the machine seems to be holding up. It’s incredible to see that, the level of expenditure and energy until the 48th minute.

Since the start of the Playoffs, never a bench had contributed so little in scoring (3 points) than the Knicks yesterday against the Indiana Pacers. In second place? The Knicks still, with 5 small bench units during Game 6 against the Sixers.
According to Statmuse, the absolute record of 0 points coming from the bench has only been achieved four times in NBA history. The Brooklyn Nets 2021 version (Game 7 against the Bucks), the Houston Rockets from 2007, the Indiana Pacers in 2006 and the Los Angeles Lakers from 1971.
You shouldn’t say it too loudly to Tom Thibodeau, he might give it a try. But when you take a look at the Knicks’ results, it’s hard to blame them for anything.
