Arriving in the league in 1997, Tim Duncan had the chance to face Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. He was therefore forced to take a stand against the three legends and delivered a response… worthy of his standards.
Few players experienced the end of the Bulls dynasty Michael Jordanthe hegemony of the Lakers Kobe Bryant as well as the reign of LeBron James. Tim Duncan is one of them and has achieved the feat of winning championship titles despite the presence of these three icons in the league. He therefore seemed well placed to prioritize them, which is precisely what he has been called upon to do in recent hours.
Tim Duncan settles the Jordan/Kobe/LeBron debate in his own way
For years now, Jordan, Bryant and James have been among the most talked about names in the endless GOAT debate. Faced with the tensions that the latter generates, the stars who have worked with them on the NBA courts are regularly invited to give their opinion. After Tony Parker a few years agoit was Tim Duncan who undertook this exercise in the Richard Jefferson & Larry Show :
Richard Jefferson : Start-bench-cut : Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, LeBron James.
Tim Duncan : I refuse to answer that.
Richard Jefferson : You cannot invoke your right to remain silent.
Tim Duncan : In this case, I would put the three starters and I would cut myself and put myself on the bench.
Richard Jefferson : It is the right answer !

Rather than making two disappointments among Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, Tim Duncan places all three of them on the same level and puts himself behind them. A political decision which is not really surprising coming from him.
