Shortly after the report on the specific discussions, BILD caught the most important person in Tuchel’s background on Säbener Strasse at 11:15 a.m.
His manager Olaf Meinking and sports director Christoph Freund (46) looked at the training pitches from his office. They both laughed and looked happy. At about the same time, Tuchel started the morning session with the team.

Meinking has been at home games a lot recently. At almost every Allianz game he comes out of the locker room with the coach. But his visit to Säbener Straße is unusual. A clear indication that Tuchel’s stay is taking concrete shape.

The fact is: both sides are willing to try each other again. A contract extension beyond 2025 is also an issue. Because: Tuchel does not want to be the interim solution in the event that a dream coach like Jürgen Klopp (56/paused after his end at Liverpool) suddenly becomes available.
