After concluding the annual declaration period for fiscal year 2023, the Tax Administration Service (SAT) reported that more than 7.58 million taxpayers had a favorable balance.
According to the institution, the amount in favor of taxpayers amounts to nearly 1,310.1 million pesos, 24.3 percent more than what was registered a year ago.
On average, it is estimated that each individual will receive around seven thousand 223.6 pesos per declaration made.
“The SAT recognizes citizens who pay taxes, since they contribute to strengthening the country’s economy and allows us to cover collective needs,” the institution said in a statement.
During the annual declaration period, the organization in charge of Antonio Martínez Dagnino reported that it attended to 10 million 231 thousand 434 procedures, 19 percent more than a year ago.
Of this universe, 14 percent had no credit balance, while only 12 percent had debts to the treasury.
“The increase in the presentation of declarations by individuals and legal entities responds to a tax culture that is increasingly rooted in society, in which citizens know their tax obligations, as well as the benefits of complying with them in a timely manner,” concluded the SAT.
