The Tahiti Pro starts with off

If the waiting period for the Tahiti Pro (May 22-31), sixth round of the pro circuit, officially started this Wednesday morning – Polynesia has -12 hours time difference with the Metropolis -, the competition was not launched at Teahupoo. Despite very mild weather (sun and no wind), the swell is not consistent enough.

The World Surf League has also already announced that Thursday will also be off. A call could be planned for Friday morning, but nothing is less certain. On the other hand, the first round of the women’s draw could begin on Saturday morning (Saturday evening in Paris). To confirm.

As a reminder, three French people are in the running – Johanne Defay, Vahine Fierro and Kauli Vaast – for this stage of the Championship Tour which also serves as a test event before the surfing event at the Paris Olympics.
