FC Bayern Munich: Will Vincent Kompany’s assistant coach come from the U19s?
Kompany’s assistant coach at Burnley FC was the Welshman Craig Bellamy. According to information from The Athletic, the 44-year-old will not go to Munich with Kompany. Instead, he could succeed him as head coach of Burnley.
According to tz, there should be considerations about installing René Maric as a new assistant coach. The Austrian is currently the coach of Bayern’s U19s and is said to get along well with Kompany: both completed their coaching training in Belgium in the same year.
The 31-year-old Maric is considered a tactics expert and has also been active as a blogger in the past: he got his start in the former SPOX community area, as he revealed in an interview in 2020.
At FC Bayern, he also works on campus as team leader for coach development and game ideas. His contract is due to expire in the summer, and media reports say there is interest from Leeds United and Sunderland. Bayern are reportedly looking to extend his contract.
