The new Government measure for the 2024-2025 season

The Institute of Seniors and Social Services (Imserso) has informed the travel agencies that the tourism program for seniors for the 2024-2025 season will begin within the stipulated period, regardless of the decision made regarding its extension or new tender.

The Imserso travel program for the 2023/2024 season was awarded in its entirety to Social Tourism (Ávoris Corporación Empresarial), which took over the three lots (peninsular coasts, islands and circuits and provincial capitals) of which it is composed, with the possibility of two annual extensions (until 2025-2026).

The Unav and Fetave associations reported this Friday in a statement that the general director of Imserso, María Teresa Sancho, told them, in a meeting held this week, that the travel program will not be altered in its start dateshotel quality, means of transportation and fair marketing in all travel agencies and that the defects that have been occurring in this year will be corrected.

In this sense, according to Unav and Fetave, Imserso has confirmed the existence of non-compliance in the development of the program by the successful bidder that have reduced the satisfaction and experience of the beneficiaries, while negatively affecting the operation and image of the travel agencies.

Both associations have indicated that Imserso has committed to taking the measures necessary so that these non-compliances do not occur again in the next season, whatever the decision that the Institute makes within the scope of its powers regarding the extension or new bidding of the travel program.

Transparency must prevail

Imserso has expressed, in agreement with Unav and Fetave, its commitment to obtain and make public a report, which will provide both associations with information on the execution of the program. for the sake of transparency that should take precedence in the travel program as public procurement that it is.

The associations, for their part, have undertaken to provide Imserso with the information they have from their associated agencies and clients about dysfunctions and non-compliance with the specifications and the offer awardee.

Unav and Fetave have expressed their support to Imserso in its decision to demand compliance with the commitments of the successful bid and apply the specifications regarding non-compliance, as well as its correction in the next travel program, and have committed to collaborate in the continuous improvement of the travel program for seniors.
