German rider Georg Steinhauser won the 17th stage of the Tour of Italy after a great solo performance. Tadej Pogacar continued to widen his lead at the top of the general classification.
The young German Georg Steinhauser won the 17th stage of the Tour of Italy alone on Wednesday at the top of the Passo del Brocon after a great number in the mountains.
The Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, second 1 min 23 sec behind the winner, further consolidated his pink jersey as leader with a lead of more than seven minutes over the Colombian Daniel Martínez.
There are four stages remaining until the finish on Sunday in Rome, including that of Thursday, promised to the sprinters.
