Last minute surprise. The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired their head coach JB Bickerstaff, reported journalist Adrian Wojnarowski of the outlet ESPN.
Bickerstaff has guided a new Cavs rebuild, reaching the Eastern Semifinals for the first in the last 6 years. However, they have not been sufficient merits to continue in office.
“JB is a highly respected coach in the NBA and an incredible human being,” said Koby Altman. «Over the last four years he has helped us establish a culture that encouraged players to become the best versions of themselves. Decisions like these are never easy, particularly when you look back and remember where the team started under his leadership,” he explained.
The 45-year-old coach joined the Cavs in 2019 from the Memphis Grizzlies. In four seasons at the helm he has obtained a record of 170 wins and 159 losses, reaching the playoffs in the last two years.

Two names have already been mentioned as possible replacements, according to sources close to journalist Shams Charania. The candidates would be James Borrego, formerly of the Charlotte Hornets; and Kenny Atkinson, current assistant to Steve Kerr in Golden State.
