The Argentine Men’s Volleyball Team faces Brazil | It comes from losing to Japan in the Nations League

After the hard setback of the Argentine volleyball team in the debut against Japan in the Nations League that takes place in Rio de Janeiro, the chances of getting a ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games remain intact.

The 3-1 defeat against Japan (24-26, 25-22, 25-23 and 25-19) was a wake-up call for Marcelo Méndez’s team, which will have to face Brazil, Canada and Slovakia to get between the eight who will fight for the title in Poland, and secure a place in the Olympic event that will take place in the capital of France.

For this to happen, Argentina must have a good performance in this tournament to be able to get a ticket to Paris, since the places that remain to be filled will be made through the International Federation ranking, in which it is momentarily classified.

The first classified was France, for being the local team. Subsequently, Germany, Brazil, the United States, Japan, Poland and Canada managed to acquire a place. With seven countries qualified, there are five vacant places, although one of those will be for the best African team, so far Egypt, and the remaining four will be for the world rankings.

So far, Argentina is in, since it is seventh in the ranking, but five of the six teams ahead have already qualified. Italy is third and would be the first of the four that will enter the Olympic event. The others that are also entering are Slovenia (8th) and Serbia (9th).
