Tennis Club TCD Undergoes Leadership Transition as Hermann Schröder Prepares to Step Down After 25 Years

Hermann Schröder continues to lead the traditional club and is supported by his deputy Sibylle Lutzkat, treasurer Wulf-Diether Betz, secretary Peter Hirt and the new youth director Stefan Baumann. However, after 25 years at the top of the club, Schröder announced that this would be the last period of this board. They now want to use the time to find a successor team and create a seamless and smooth transition. Some members have already signaled their willingness.

The biggest challenge will be to attract new members, as the number of members has currently fallen to just under 200. Actions such as the recent “Open Day”, where numerous children and adults registered for an introductory training course, give the club hope. This offer should be expanded. In addition, the TCD still has a lot to offer: a beautiful facility with seven pitches and no waiting times, very good catering, qualified trainers and an air dome in winter. According to treasurer Wulf-Diether Betz, the club is financially solid.

The sporting highlights of last season were the district championship titles for Marie Rödl (U14) and Noah-Gabriel Kotter (U10) as well as the sixth success of the men’s 30s at the prestigious Team Cup in Höchstädt. This year, the TCD is taking part in the points round with seven motivated teams: Bambini, boys, juniors, women, men, men 30 and men 65. (pm)
