Team USA will train in Tourcoing for the first round of the 2024 Olympics

Team USA has chosen its base camp for the first round of the 2024 Olympic Games in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. According to information from La Voix du Nord, the 12 American stars will train at the Kipstadium in Tourcoing, located 30 minutes from the Decathlon Arena, the venue which will host the first round of the basketball tournament at the Olympics. The northern daily claims that the American delegation had also considered establishing itself at the Pévèle Arena in Orchies.

Back at the top since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the Dream Team version 2024 will have the ambition of winning a 17th gold medal in 21 participations to further establish its hegemony over world basketball. And to do this, Team USA will count on a five-star armada in which LeBron James and Kevin Durant will compete in their last Olympics while Stephen Curry will wear the American jersey for the first time alongside the new generation embodied by Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton.

Inside, the defense of the racket will be provided by Bam Adebayo, Anthony Davis, both in the top 5 for the title of best defender of the year in the NBA, and Joel Embiid. The United States will play in Group C alongside Serbia, South Sudan and one of the winners of the TQO (Puerto Rico, Italy, Bahrain, Lithuania, Mexico or Ivory Coast).
