Tampa Bay Rays Reunite with Outfielder Josh Lowe After Injury, Recall Pitcher Edwin Uceta

The Tampa Bay Rays reunited with outfielder Josh Lowe, who spent 10 days on the injured list, hours before their game scheduled for Monday night against the Chicago White Sox.

Lowe had been sidelined since the opener with a strained right oblique, an injury that occurred during spring training camp. He also experienced tightness in his hamstring toward the end of April, just before leaving the Rays’ injured list.

Lowe hit for a .292 average with 20 homers, 83 RBIs and 32 steals last season.

On the other hand, right-handed pitcher Edwin Uceta was recalled from AAA Durham, where he went 0-1 with a 7.00 ERA in 10 games. Uceta appeared in 25 games, compiling an 0-3 record, between 2021 and 2023 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets.

The Rays used six relievers in a 7-6 10th-inning win over the Mets on Sunday after starter Ryan Pepiot was hit by a 107.5 mph arrow in the left calf. Magnetic resonance imaging tests performed on Pepiot on Sunday came back negative.
