Talented Youth Shine at French Badminton Championships: Recap of Winners and Highlights

The final phase of the French Youth Badminton Championships took place from May 10 to 12 in Lyon.

Thomas Tournefier, in the cadet men’s singles, began his journey by winning his first round against Arush Ravikumar (No. 9). He then beat Paul Massias (No. 6). Despite a defeat in the semi-final against the winner Arthur Tatranov (n° 1) Thomas won the bronze medal. In the cadet men’s doubles category, Thomas teamed up with Arthur Tatranov (n° 1) and obtained the silver medal, thus becoming vice-champions of France cadet.

Young people who shone

In the junior mixed doubles, Thomas, associated with Monitosita Touch (n°3) won their first round and quarter-final matches, they lost in the semi-final against Marjolène Raffin (n°2) and Timéo Bourgin (n° 1).
This performance allowed them to win a second bronze medal. Inès Villard, 17, ranked 3rd French junior, also represented the club brilliantly.
In the junior women’s singles, she won her first round before losing in the quarter-finals.
In junior mixed doubles, associated with Swann Hardi (n°12), she also reached the quarter-finals.
