Tadej Pogacar was ready to drop the pink jersey at the Giro

Tadej Pogacar (pink jersey, after the 6th stage of the Giro): “For us, it was perfect for the breakaway to stay in front because I didn’t want to spend too much energy on the white paths and in the climbs. Even if Luke Plapp had taken the pink jersey, I would have been fine with it. For me it was a good step and it was nice to ride the Strade Bianche course again. The crowd was great once again. But I still prefer Strade Bianche.

(On Friday’s time trial) I had good legs today (Thursday) and I hope that tomorrow (Friday) it will also be the case for the time trial. It’s an interesting journey. I don’t think about victory. I just want to feel good on the bike.”
