Success and Setbacks at the 3rd Day of the Outdoor League in Illescas

Last Sunday, the 3rd day of the outdoor league was held in Illescas (Toledo), organized by the Artemisa Club. On this occasion, the Traditional, Naked and Longbow archers shot together with the precision Recurve and Compound bows. About 80 archers participated in this day, which passed very calmly, with a good day, without air, a little cool and a good snack between rounds to regain strength.

Among other clubs in the community, the Arcoclub Las Lomas participated with its 3 archers: Arantxa Serrano, with the Compound bow, Mari Jota Jaén and Alfredo Serrano with the Longbow bow. Arantxa did not have a good day, with scores a little lower than what she usually does and ended up with a 4th place, although not very satisfied with her results.

And Mari Jota, together with Almudena Barbas from the Manzarco club and the absent Silvia Martin, fought for the top positions in the league, from which the team representatives for the national championship will emerge. Mari Jota did what she could, but the more consistent Almudena took the victory and finished in second position.

Alfredo Serrano had an impressive day, staying just 6 points away from the desired barrier of 600 points. With two very close rounds, he finished in first position, followed by Chema from Manzarco and José Antonio Hernández from Guadalajara, who came in 3rd. With this gold, Alfredo consolidates first place in the absence of the last round, which coincides with the regional championship and will not change this result.
