Stephen Curry Wins 2024 Magic Johnson Award for Excellence on and off the Court

Bam Adebayo, DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gobert or Tyrese Haliburton would also have made great winners, but they will have to be content with a simple status of finalist for the “Magic Johnson Award”, since it is Stephen Curry who wins the jackpot this year, three weeks after being named Clutch Player of the Year.

This is the second time, after 2016, that the leader of Warriors is the recipient of this trophy, awarded to the player who shines on the field, while being accessible to journalists and the public. This is what we used to call the “orange price” in tennis. The union of American basketball journalists is responsible for voting for its “champion” and the panel is made up of more than 200 people.

Now a double winner, not counting the “Magic Johnson Award” offered to the best player in the Western Conference final (2022), Stephen Curry imitates Shane Battier (2007-2013) and Damian Lillard (2017-2020), also doubly rewarded in the past.
