Schafzahl with Boston in the PWHL finals

Theresa Schafzahl has a chance at the title in the first year of the North American women’s professional ice hockey league PWHL. The 23-year-old Styrian reached the final with her club Boston on Tuesday. With the 3-2 win after extra time over Montreal, Boston comfortably won the “best of five” semi-final series with 3-0 wins. Schafzahl was on the ice for over 23 minutes and prepared the winning goal.

Boston was behind 2-0 after two periods at the Tongas Center, but equalized 2-2 shortly before the end. After just under a minute in extra time, Susanna Tapani scored the winning goal. The final will be against either Toronto or Minnesota, with the Canadians leading the series 2-1.
