The Dominican Saul Mena, known as “MenaRD”, was crowned this Sunday as the winner of Street Fighter 6, at the “Evolution Championship Series” (EVO) Japan 2024.
EVO Japan is the oldest fighting game tournament in history and one of the most prestigious in the world.
Mena competed in the final against Kakeru, beating him in all three moments of the fight.
“I may have been born in the Dominican Republic, but Japan is also the birthplace of MenaRD,” he said after being announced as the virtual winner.
