The mayor of San Fernando, Patricia Cavada, accompanied by the deputy mayor for Sports, Antonio Rojas, and the Councilor for Sports of the Cádiz City Council, Carlos Lucero, together with Antonio Torres, vice president of the Spanish Basketball Federation, Javier Vidal, second vice president of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, and Adolfo Magrañal, delegate of the FAB in Cádiz, have announced the details of a tournament, the island City Council has indicated in a note.
The mayor thanked the athletes for their involvement, as well as the institutions, entities, sponsors and volunteers, “essential to launch this tournament”, ensuring that San Fernando is “a city dedicated to making sport and the quality of life a fundamental pillar for the well-being of citizens”. Thus, she has stated that “the emotion” between participants is “one of the examples of the harmony that emerges, beyond quality, from a sport that requires all of our attention.”
The Councilor for Sports of the Cádiz City Council, Carlos Lucero, has pointed out that “after many years” Cádiz “returns to have a leading role in basketball at the national level” with the celebration of this championship and that the capital “aspires to play among the provincial leaders of this sport”, so they hope to “continue hosting major sporting events”.
For his part, the vice president of the Federation has thanked the collaboration between institutions, which he points out as “essential” for the organization of an event, something that the head of the Provincial Council has also highlighted, highlighting “the facilities and the need for cooperation between administrations , especially in sports matters”.
The Spanish Cadet Basketball Championship is a sporting event “of great interest”, which brings together a “very important” number of people, from the players, technical bodies, organization staff, as well as the families of the participants. All of this without counting on the audience, which is expected from all over the country.
After the celebration of the Mini, the president of the FEB sent a letter thanking the mayor for her commitment to the entity, while congratulating the City Council for the sports facilities, something that has been put on the table in the presentation of the event, since that it is “a reference to return to the city”, as the island City Council has indicated.
In addition, this year 2024 San Fernando will organize, host and sponsor more than 80 events of different categories, disciplines and fields, to which we will add those framed in the calendars of leagues, federations and clubs.
