Rugby: the burglar of Guido Petti, the Argentinian of the UBB, sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of 120,000 euros

He was found a month later. After burglarizing the home of Union Bordeaux Bègles second line Guido Petti on February 25, the perpetrator was arrested on March 25. His immediate appearance took place two days later, he was sentenced to two years in prison with a committal warrant and a fine of 120,000 euros.

The individual was already known for numerous public offenses. He was found thanks to a DNA trace found by the Scientific Police Division in the apartment of the Argentine rugby player. In addition to this, he had kept two invoices for Rolex watches in the victim’s name in his own home. They were found during the search.

250,000 euros in stolen goods

The burglary took place during a trip from the Union Bordeaux Bègles to Castres. On his return, at two o’clock in the morning, Guido Petti noticed the theft of several of his personal effects, for a total value estimated at 250,000 euros.

The perpetrator of the burglary had stolen nine luxury watches, titles and medals, rugby jerseys, multimedia objects and a safe containing 40,000 euros. An Argentine international on 77 occasions, Guido Petti participated in the 2015, 2019 and 2023 World Cups.
