Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert was a unanimous selection to the 2023-24 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team after being named the 2023-24 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Gobert received First Team votes on all 99 ballots from a global panel of sportswriters and commentators, earning this recognition for the seventh time.
Joining Gobert on the 2023-24 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team are Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs, Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, Herb Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers. Wembanyama is the first rookie to be selected to the Defensive First Team since its inception in the 1968-69 season. Adebayo earns this recognition for the first time after being a member of the Second Team for four consecutive seasons. Jones makes his debut in the Kia NBA All-Defensive Team, while it is Davis’ third time in the First Team, as well as two selections in the Second Team.
The 2023-24 Kia NBA All-Defensive Second Team includes Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls, Jalen Suggs of the Orlando Magic, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics, and Jaden McDaniels of the Minnesota Timberwolves. It is the second selection for Caruso and White, and the sixth for Holiday. Suggs and McDaniels are their first appointments.
