Valentino Rossi who were present at MotoGP Spain 2024, Sunday (28/4), admitted that he was happy to see Francesco Bagnaia’s success in defeating Marc Marquez.
Bagnaia won a fierce duel against Marquez. The two racers even touched, leaving tire marks on The Baby Alien’s racing suit.
Rossi, who saw the fierce Bagnaia vs Marquez duel firsthand, was happy that Pecco was able to win. The Doctor said Bagnaia’s aggressive performance was successful in beating Marquez.
“Pecco considers Marc to be one of his rivals in the championship. We have seen his approach. He immediately responded to Marquez’s attacks. I think this is very important, because people like Marquez tend to ‘eat’ you.”
“If he sees you bleeding, or you are not that strong, he will eat you more. Pecco completed three perfect laps today, proving he is the best of all the riders riding a Ducati,” said Rossi as quoted by Crash.
When asked what Bagnaia’s best moment during the 2024 Spanish MotoGP was, Rossi did not hesitate to mention when Pecco overtook Marquez until the two racers touched.
“The fight with Marquez [jadi momen terbaik], no doubt. When Marquez passed him at Turn 9, he went a little wide. Pecco returned to turn 10 with entry like Marquez usually does. “There, in my opinion, Pecco immediately made Marquez understand that he wanted to win,” said Rossi.
“Marquez does more things in the last laps, especially in the left corner. When Marquez overtakes you, you have to overtake and do it quickly. Because if not, the front tire will get hot so overtaking becomes even more difficult. Marquez immediately tried, Pecco good at responding,” added Rossi.
Bagnaia’s victory at the 2024 Spanish MotoGP brought the defending champion rider up to second place in the standings this season, 17 points behind Jorge Martin at the top of the standings. While in sixth place, 32 points behind.
