A tournament that also serves as a preliminary round to determine the Tokai region representatives for the “All Japan Student Judo Championship” held in June.
On Sunday, May 19th, the Judo club will compete in the “71st Tokai Student Judo Summer Tournament” and “31st Tokai Student Women’s Judo Championship” to be held at the Aichi Prefectural Budokan in Minato Ward, Nagoya City. The girls will compete in the 7-a-side division, and the girls will compete in the 3-a-side division.
The tournament also serves as a preliminary round to decide who will represent the Tokai region (4 boys’ 7-a-side schools and 4 girls’ 3-a-side schools) for the “All Japan Student Judo Championships” to be held in Tokyo in June. We aim to qualify for All Japan.

Highlights of the new team
With 43 members including 13 new members, the team, led by captain Renki Takenaka (4th year, Faculty of Law), has worked as one to strengthen the team in preparation for this tournament.
The 12 male athletes participating in the tournament were selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of their academic performance, practice attitude, participation in tournaments and training camps, and their lifestyle. The strength of this year’s team is that the players are truly practicing both literary and military arts, and they have grown in size with an average height of 177 cm and an average weight of 100 kg.
The girls will compete in a three-person tournament with four members. Since it is necessary to win the Tokai tournament with a small number of elite athletes, each athlete has been conscious of himself and has been practicing and training intensively.
