QUALIFYING FOR THE 2024 ITALIAN Rookie CHAMPIONSHIP
The curtain falls onlast regional qualifying phase of the season, which saw the male and female athletes of the class compete against each other rookies: the Gelsomini Barracks of the State Police hosted the event on May 12th. At stake was qualification for the Italian Beginners Championshipwhich will be held on 1 and 2 June at the PalaPellicone in Ostia.
The race has attracted numerous registrations and counting 188 athletes, accompanied by 53 companies and who competed on two competition areas in kata and kumite matches. The Lazio Karate Regional Committee was once again satisfied with the numbers achieved, because it once again proves to be one of the Regions with the highest participation rate in Italy.
For many of them it was there first experience in the world of competition, therefore theemotion played an important role, while others have already started a competitive path thanks to other national competitions, such as the Open League of Padua and the Open League of Riccione. In any case, for those wishing to broaden their experience on the tatami, it is still possible to register for the Rome Open League, which will be held between 21 and 23 June at the PalaPellicone in Ostia.
The event was also an opportunity to confer the title of Meritorious Master to Maestro Troiano Giancarlo, Maestro Iacobelli Enzo and Maestro Granatiero Claudio, awarded by Maestro Culasso Claudio and Maestro Yamada Kohei.
