Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard continues to impress. Winner of three Challenger titles on hard court this year, including two in a row in Mexico in April, the 20-year-old French “giant” also started his clay court tour well with a quarter in Bordeaux and a victory against Lorenzo Sonego (6 −3, 6–4) in the first round of the ATP 250 in Lyon.
It was also at the end of this Tuesday that he expressed his great ambitions for the rest of the season.
🗣️ “I am different, I am not like the others”

“My goal this season is to win an ATP tournament: 250, 500 or 1000, I don’t know. I know that I am capable of doing great things with my game. I can be really formidable in this type of category. I will give myself the means to succeed. I have a great tour waiting for me in July/August. I have a lot of tournaments to do. Now I just have to enjoy it, gain confidence in myself, in my game and go for it. »
