Riccardo Verdecchia has done it again. The law student at the University of Macerata immediately inserted and positioned Cus Macerata well in the medal table of the national university championships. The judoka won bronze in Campobasso, repeating or almost repeating the second place that he had already celebrated a year ago in Camerino. Verdecchia, from Sakura Osimo, competed in the -60 kg category, competing with 11 other athletes. Having reached the semi-final he paid for a distraction on the grip which his opponent from Cus Napoli did not let “escape”, beating him. In the final, however, Riccardo redeemed himself by overtaking the athlete from Urbino and in the end took the bronze medal around his neck. In July the Eusa European Championships (European University Sports Association) await him in Hungary. Verdecchia will be the only UNIMC representative for all sports.
