Real Madrid is already working on the transfer summer of 2025. According to Marca, the Royal Netherlands is planning far ahead when it comes to selection policy and the club has already identified two targets for that transfer window: Florian Wirtz and Franco Mastantuono.

Within Real Madrid, Wirtz is seen as the ‘number one priority’. The newly crowned national champions of Spain have already started to realize the transfer of the German, who will therefore have to wear the white of Real Madrid from the 2025/26 season.

For the time being, the 21-year-old Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until mid-2027, where he has become an absolute star this season. With eighteen goals and nineteen assists, the creative played a significant role in winning the national title and reaching the finals of the DFB-Pokal and the Europa League.

Sixteen-year-old Mastantuono is a less well-known name in Europe. The Argentinian promise is in his debut season at River Plate and is already making a big impression as a very young player.

Despite his age, Mastantuono has already played twelve games in the main squad of the Argentine superpower. The attacking midfielder still has a contract in his home country until the end of 2026.

If Real Madrid actually wants to sign the talented pair of midfielders, the club will probably have to go far financially. Wirtz can also count on interest from Bayern Munich and so Leverkusen will be able to increase the price.

For Mastantuono, almost the entire European top is after him – at least that is the reading of transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano – and so this midfielder will not be cheap either.
