Real Madrid-Bayern Munich: images of Davies’ exceptional strike which puts the Bavarians into orbit

Andriy Lunin could not do anything. While Real Madrid dominated their Champions League semi-final return against Bayern Munich, and created the best opportunities, the Bavarians were more realistic. On a counter-attack, Harry Kane managed to find Alphonso Davies on the left side. Launched at high speed, the Canadian found himself face-to-face with Antonio Rüdiger.

The German defender probably expected the Munich player to try to go on his left foot, as he almost always does. But everything lies in the “almost”. Audacious, Alphonso Davies, this time, made a hook to find himself on his right foot and open up an axis of strike. Overwhelmed, Antonio Rüdiger arrived too late to counter the Canadian’s superb shot, which found its way into Andriy Lunin’s small opposite net.

This goal could be decisive in this semi-final. After the first leg draw (2-2) in Bavaria, both teams must absolutely win if they want to reach the Champions League final at Wembley. Bayern Munich is therefore in pole position to join its great rival Borussia Dortmund, who beat Paris Saint-Germain this Tuesday (0-1).
