Racing Club Prepares for South American Cup Match Against Coquimbo Unidos

With the players who started in the 4-4 with Belgrano on gym duties, Gustavo Costas gave minutes of soccer to the rest of the men he had at his disposal in the afternoon practice this Tuesday at the Academy. The coach supervised a practice in which he placed a Racing formation against a youth team, with several of the soccer players who will act as starters this Thursday (at 7 p.m.) against Coquimbo Unidos of Chile, for the fifth date of Group H of the South American Cup.

The coach put these 11 to start at the Academy: Gabriel Arias; Facundo Mura, Marco Di Cesare, Augustine Garcia Basso, Ignatius Galvan; Leonel Miranda, Bruno Zuculini and Augustine Almond; Santiago Solari, Adrian Martinez and Maximilian Rooms. As part of the variations that existed, at times Gabriel Rojas and Galván alternated, as well as Tobías Rubio (for Lolo) as a stopper on the right, and there Mura was as a winger-midfielder. That is, the scheme began with a 4-3-3 and in passages it went to a 3-4-3.

Of these names, the first three of the lineup will surely be starters and the same goes for Maravilla and Salas in the Academy. In the middle there are doubts. It is estimated that Santiago Sosa will start, perhaps in midfield. In that case, it will be necessary to see if Almendra or Zuculini will continue on the bank. In Galván’s place would be Gabriel Rojas and another unknown is who will accompany Salas and Adrián Martínez. Johan Carbonero played very well against Pirate and would have an advantage over Santiago Solari.

The two forwards who were in the formation and gave good news to Costas in Racing

Maravilla and Salas gave Costas the good news this Tuesday at the Academy. They recovered from physical discomfort and returned to training normally. They did it after not adding minutes against Belgrano. The scorer had an overload in a soleus and Maxi, a hematoma in the area of the sacrum and coccyx. The other footballers who overcame ailments are Arias and Mura. The goalkeeper was a relief option against the Pirate and the right-back had stayed in Buenos Aires due to a twist in his right knee.

On the other hand, the losses of Juan Fernando Quintero and Germán Conti will be reiterated. The Colombian is recovering from a right adductor strain at the Academy. And the coaching staff believes that they will be able to count on him this Monday the 20th against Argentinos, for the second date of the Professional League. Conti, in turn, has a tear in the biceps femoris of his right leg.

After this Wednesday’s training at the Academy, with tactical and set-piece exercises, some signs of the formation that the coach plans to put in place will surely come to light. And the club will announce the list of those called up.
