Puribec Senior Baseball League Resumes Play with Seven Exciting Matchups

After a break of a few days, action resumes Friday in the Puribec Senior Baseball League. Seven games are on the schedule.

Beaten in Grand Falls last Sunday, the Rimouski Shaker will play twice: Friday evening, 7:30 p.m., in Trois-Pistoles and Sunday afternoon, 2 p.m., at the Guillaume-Leblanc Sports Complex stadium, with the Cataractes McCain as visitors.

Facing Bérubé GM, manager Jean-Philippe Marcoux-Tortillet will give the ball to veteran right-handed pitcher Mathieu Gobeil who is beginning his 22nd season in the circuit. For Yannick Dumais’ team, Tristan Michaud-Thériault will be the starting pitcher.

Dumais must deal with some very bad news after learning, a few days ago, that his young left-handed pitcher Cédric Martineau-Duguay was taking a break from baseball.

Also Friday, the Témiscouata Batitech Braves will play their first game at home by hosting the Edmundston Frontière FM. The likely pitchers are Etmel Corcino and Dany Paradis-Giroux.

SATURDAY

Four matches are scheduled for Saturday. In Rivière-du-Loup, CIEL-FM (2-0) will host Allées du Boulevard de Matane in a double program which will begin at 1 p.m. Maxime Gauthier and Louis Bernier are the planned pitchers for the visitors.

For his part, Kamouraska will be the visitor in Grand Falls (Saul Nunez), in the afternoon, before stopping in Edmundston (Carlos Matos), in the evening.

Finally, Sunday will be the Shaker’s local opening against the Cataractes. Left-hander Émile Maisonneuve is the likely pitcher for the Rimouski team.
