PSV Duisburg’s Young Judokas Excel at District Championships, Qualify for U-13 North Rhine Championships

Duisburg. 13 young athletes from PSV Duisburg qualified for the U-13 North Rhine Championships in Velbert on May 26th.

The young judokas PSV Duisburg were able to seamlessly build on the good performances at the district championships at the district individual championships in the U13 age group. 13 of the 14 young athletes who competed managed to qualify for the highest level of the championship series.

Velbert Matvii Bibik (-28 kg) and Thoren Lemberg (-37 kg) were particularly strong, both of whom eliminated four opponents and secured the gold medal. Dimitri Radev (-40 kg) even won five fights and also became district champion. Jamin Ludkowski (-55 kg) and Abubakr Shoev (+55 kg) only had to admit defeat in the final of their weight classes and thus achieved second places. Mark Bochkovskyi (-34 kg), who came third, also impressed with four wins. Vsevolod Kreiter (-31 kg) and Noah Serce (-55 kg) reached fifth place.

It rained silver medals for the girls: Carlotta Poth (-27 kg), Mina Lemberg (-36 kg), Eva D’Assaro (-40 kg) and Lara Bürvenich (-48 kg) all became district runners-up. Carla Freese won bronze. The PSV youngsters once again successfully demonstrated their good form.

Thanks to their placements, the 13 judokas mentioned were able to qualify for the North Rhine U13 individual championships, which will also take place in Velbert on Sunday, May 26th.
