PSG advances on Matvey Safonov (Krasnodar)

With the end of Keylor Navas’ contract, PSG had made the recruitment of a goalkeeper, capable of appearing as an alternative to Gianluigi Donnarumma, a priority issue. Revealed by the Russian media last week, the trail leading to Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov (25 years old, under contract until 2029) is moving forward. PSG has been negotiating the arrival of the international (1.92m) for several weeks.

The amount of the potential transaction has not been filtered. Luis Campos, PSG’s football advisor, has known the player for several years and had, for a time, considered recruiting him for Celta Vigo. Perceived as a complete goalkeeper, Safonov played nearly 200 professional matches at the age of 25.
