Arne Slot confirm will train Liverpool Next season. The following is the profile of the Reds’ new manager.

Arne Slot announced this on Friday (17/5/2024). The 45 year old man will coach the Reds next season.

“I can confirm that I will train there next season,” he said.

Who is Arne Slot?

Arne Slot, who retired as a player in 2013, began his professional coaching career not long ago. He was initially on the staff of PEC Zwolle, before being recruited by Cambuur.

In 2017, Arne Slot then became interim manager of Cambuur with Spike Hulshoff, after Robert Maas was fired. Slot and Hulshoff took charge of Cambuur, then still in the Eerste Divisie, and made great achievements.

Both of them could save the team from being ranked 14th to finishing third, and even almost promotion to the Eredivisie if they didn’t lose in the playoffs. Slot also took the team to the semifinals of the KNVB Cup, but lost to Ajax.

Slot then moved to AZ Alkmaar in 2017, still serving as assistant coach under the direction of John van den Brom. In the 2019/2020 season, he was officially promoted to main coach, and was able to bring his team to compete with Ajax in the Eredivisie. AZ only lost on goal difference to Ajax at the end of the season, even though they did not have champion status because the league was stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arne Slot then fired because it was discovered he was negotiating with Feyenoord, and finally coached the team from Rotterdam starting the 2021/2022 season. In his first year, he was able to take the team to the UEFA Conference League final, but was defeated by AS Roma. While in the league, he brought the team to finish third.

The following season, Slot immediately brought the Dutch League title to Feyenoord. His team won the 2022/2023 Eredivsie, and won the Rinus Michels title for the second time.

This season, Arne Slot is still proving his cool hand. He can bring Feyenoord to become runners up in the Eredivisie, and win the KNVB Cup for the 2023/2024 season.
