It’s still close at halftime. 53:48. Dyn commentator Stefan Koch looks into the audience and says: “The Würzburg fans don’t know what to think either. The favorite’s performance here hasn’t been really confident so far.”

Würzburg’s assistant coach Dejan Mihevic at Dyn’s break: “We can’t be satisfied with our defense. They score too many points from the one-on-one game.”

That changes in the second quarter! The hosts went on a 13:4 run and took the lead to 65:52. At the end of the third quarter it was already 84:63.

Collin Welp breaks the 100-point barrier with his three-pointer with one minute and 58 seconds left. Zac Seljass (20 points), Otis Livingstone II (17) and defense star Javon Bess (19) are the most successful throwers for the Würzburgers.

This victory is sheer madness! There are two bare-chested men in the audience, happy about the direct play-off qualification.

Sweet! Seljaas brings his son to the Dyn interview after the game: “This is my eldest. Royce. Say: Hi!” The boy (wearing headphones against the volume in the hall) makes wild noises, seems to see himself on a monitor and makes faces and is happy. Then he nudges his dad on the head several times with his finger and plays with his hair.

His dad stays cool and answers the questions: “In the first half we were looking for our rhythm. They hit hard shots. We then concentrated more on defense. That helped us turn the game around. It’s fun to be part of this team. That was also a reason why I wanted to stay here. Of course it’s great that we made it to the play-offs.”
