Paris 2024 Olympic Games: where and what time to see the flame in Haute-Garonne and Toulouse, the route on May 17

Welcome to Haute-Garonne! This Friday, May 17, the Olympic flame continues to travel the roads of Occitania. After Carcassonne the day before, 101 torch bearers will take turns in the “31” to end with celebrations in the Pink City.

At 9 a.m., the town of Revel will have the honor of launching the stage in Haute-Garonne. It is at the town halls that it will all begin. Right in the center of Revel, this market, which dates from the 14th century, will be the setting for the flame until 9:45 a.m.

Then head to the medieval town of Villemur-sur-Tarn from 9:55 a.m. The opportunity to cross this river via the Simone-Veil suspension bridge. Twenty minutes of happiness for the 5,800 inhabitants of this town and an arrival at the velodrome stadium at 10:15 a.m.

Muret will be the next stop from 11:45 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Followed by Rieux-Volvestre, another medieval city, in the spotlight from 12:50 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. The torch bearers will stroll through the streets of the town of Colomiers between 2:50 p.m. and 3:55 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the thermal park will be the start of the stage in Bagnères-de-Luchon, which will make a short detour via the Luchon-Superbagnères ski area before arriving at Place Gabriel-Rouy at 5:20 p.m.

The highlight of the day will take place in Toulouse, the Pink City with 2,000 years of history, from 5:30 p.m. The flame bearers, including the opener of the XV of France Romain Ntamack, will leave Saint-Cyprien and cross the Catalans and Saint-Pierre bridges towards the Place du Capitole. The Saint-Sernin basilica, the largest Romanesque church in France, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, also known for being one of the stops on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, will be in the spotlight.

After the collective relay which will highlight badminton with captain Florence Delgal, para-badminton athlete at the André-Brouat sports hall, it will be time to join the rugby players’ den of the Stade Toulouse, the Ernest-Wallon stadium for the lighting of the cauldron at 7:20 p.m.
