Palaiseau: the 3,600 Polytechnique students in commando mode… for a good cause!

It is an event now well established in the Polytechnique calendar. The prestigious Palaiseau campus (Essonne) will be transformed into a commando camp for four days starting next Tuesday, May 21.

For its 3rd edition, the Delir’Race* brings together 3,600 students (ENSAE, Télécom SudParis, etc.) for five days of sport and sharing. Musical atmosphere, rain of multicolored powders, diving into the unknown… This 4 km long obstacle course, accessible to everyone from 7 to 77 years old, is above all a party in which we come to participate with family, friends or colleagues . Departures will follow one another in waves, every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., allowing as many people as possible to embark on the adventure which extends over the 160 hectares of the Campus.

It’s about surpassing oneself, but above all it’s fun and good-natured. There’s crawling, jumping, crossing, and we come disguised, like a certain Superman, seen last year testing his supernatural powers… in the mud. Four levels of difficulty are offered so that everyone can find their own way…

It’s the company 2L Adventures, organizer of tailor-made events and sporting holidays, which is still in operation. Terrestrial or floating, the 20 obstacles, all as tricky as they are passable, were first modeled in 3D by the two co-founders from Yvelines, the ex-paratrooper commando Claude Lamir and the sports coach Pascal Lesellier.

“We have a lot to gain from participating,” according to sponsor Claude Dartois

In the evening, a DJ and a lounge bar will spice up the festivities program. If the course is reserved for companies (with a trophy for the one which brings together the most participants), schools and universities as well as associations from Tuesday to Friday, the day of Saturday May 26 is dedicated to all audiences .

Claude Dartois, emblematic character of the show Koh Lanta, on TF1, has been present since the first edition. He remains the sponsor of the event which, beyond the sporting challenge, makes it possible to raise funds, 3 euros being donated on each registration for “Little heart of butter”an association which supports families faced with congenital heart disease.

Since 2022, Claude Dartois has been the sponsor of the event organized on the Essonne campus. DR

“The Delir’Race is the perfect opportunity to exercise, and especially in this year which is so important for sport with our Olympic Games,” confides the man who will take the unprecedented start of the “marathon for all” of the Olympic Games. The course is accessible to all and super fun. There is a lot to gain from participating in such events. The organizers are my friends and it is important to support people who engage in such projects. »
