Outstanding Success at the 1st International Gerhard Dorfinger Memorial Tournament

On the Pentecost weekend, the judoka from ASKÖ Judo Linz achieved outstanding successes at the 1st International Gerhard Dorfinger Memorial Tournament in Straßwalchen.

LINZ. The athletes demonstrated their skills on Saturday with a total of three gold medals, one bronze medal, one fourth place and four fifth places
impressively demonstrated. In addition, Askö Judo Linz as the Linz judo community with SK Voest Judo achieved third place in the U12 team ranking on Sunday.

Memorial tournament for coach Gerhard Dorfinger

The tournament took place for the first time in Straßwalchen on the Pentecost weekend in memory of coach Gerhard Dorfinger – mentor of Olympic silver medalist Ludwig Paischer. A total of 430 athletes from home and abroad took part in this top-class event. For many of the Linz judoka, it was their first appearance at such a big tournament, which initially caused some nervousness.
