Orléans’ season is therefore over and hopes of a comeback are gone. Germain Castano, coach at the club for seven years, probably played his 292nd and last match with Orléans.
As in the first leg, Orléans entered the match with a bang on its home court. The overflowing desire of the Loirétains placed them on very good tracks (18-6, 7th). But they paid the blow quickly, falling back into a pattern we had already seen, by conceding too many faults to the Rouennais, who came back without forcing (29-30, 14th).
