The Olympic torch relay will pass through the streets of Nogaro on Saturday May 18.
The course will start at 5:15 p.m. from the arenas, for a duration of 25 minutes. There are 5 women torchbearers (chosen by the Olympic Committee and their sponsors) who will pass the flame on a route of approximately 1 km-1.2 km.
Traffic will be closed from noon to 7 p.m. A diversion will be put in place and will be the same as for the patronal holidays. As security constraints are very strict, security barriers will be deployed. Around fifty police officers will be present. A security PC will be set up with police, firefighters and town hall services.
Strict instructions also apply to the two cafes (Le Commerce and Les Cordeliers): no tables, chairs and glasses near the course.
As for the activities, from 3 p.m., the judo, tennis, basketball and rugby clubs will give demonstrations until 4:45 p.m. They are positioned on the map (see photo).
Will also be present during the passing of the Olympic flame: the firefighters (Place du Four), the cyclists, the walking club, the archery, the circuit and the bullfighting club.
A free dance show will be offered in the arenas after the flame’s departure to Auch, with 250 children and adults, on the theme of the Olympic rings. The public will be able to enter the stands for the show.
