Author of a complicated start to the season and visibly unmotivated by the idea of competing in certain major tournaments such as the Masters 1000 in Miami and Madrid, Novak Djokovic decided in a few weeks to dismiss his coach since 2019, Goran Ivanisevic and more recently his physical trainer.
Decisions that raise questions among his fans and observers even if the world number 1 has enough experience to know what he is doing.
And while he has been working for some time with his former Davis Cup captain, Nenad Zimonjic, living doubles legend, the latter was recently questioned about this collaboration in the show Mastery. And one of his answers, spoken in the past tense, could suggest that this relationship is already over.
“Novak asked me: ‘Can you be there for training and for matches?’ Because I know him very well. On the other hand, he is someone who has immense respect for me and knows everything I know. I’m glad I could help, and it was a great experience for me.”said Nenad Zimonjic.
